Check renin/aldosterone ratio
Urine catecholamines
Plasma fractionated metanephrines
1 mg dexamethasone suppression test
– The renin/aldosterone ratio results may not be accurate if the patient is currently receiving Spironolactone.
– The stress of the patient’s current illness and hospitalization can also skew test results.
